Fresh Spring Picks at Buckle
So the last few weeks, I’ve had such fun shooting with Buckle because of the beautiful weather we’re seeing in Lincoln. But unfortunately, this weekend it was so cold. Nebraska hasn’t made up its mind about whether it’s letting winter stay or go and for me, that means I’m buying versatile pieces that I can rock on any day.
It’s definitely fun pre-shopping for spring though and as we prep to change seasons, I’ve picked out a few of my favorites that you’ll see me wearing.
At Buckle, I’ve tried on a good chunk of their new spring arrivals for our shoots this month and here’s the lowdown on some of my favorites.
Get the Styles
Rokoko Crinkle Maxi Dress – I love the sexiness of the back with the way it ties and the spaghetti straps. I was able to tighten the straps fairly easily and while I probably wouldn’t wear a bra with it, I could easily find some strapless options to hold the girls in. =) I think this dress is the perfect summer LBD that you can rock to almost anything (including events where you have no idea what to wear).
Cecico Cold Shoulder Top – The off-the shoulder trend is not going anywhere soon. This top was so comfy and I love that I can throw a denim jacket over it for spring or wear it with shorts in the summer when it’s hot. The material is super soft! With a higher neck, it adds a little “something-something” to the typical off the shoulder top.
Levi’s 501 Short – I love the way these shorts button up and give the piece some flair. I tried on the grey ones and they were super comfortable and perfect for either hanging on the lake or going out downtown. In the picture, I paired it with a kimono like cardigan and an Obey tank top. I’ll also tell you this: Levi’s don’t stretch much if at all. My pet peeve is when I buy a pair of denim shorts or pants and they stretch out so much that I can’t even wear them! This has never happened to me with this brand! .
Free People Cantina Tank Top – People are always so surprised to find out that Buckle carries Free People in their stores but this IS a brand they have. They usually have a couple dozen items from Free People! The Cantina tank top is on my list to buy for summer and I plan on sizing up so that I can wear a bralette underneath that peeks out or a swimsuit. It’s a great throw on piece for summer and while I prefer the white color, it does come in pink too! This piece is also under $50!
Free People Hazy Shades Bralette – I just bought this today while shopping and one of the stylists at Buckle told me to wear it underneath a light, loose black top or under something like the Cantina tank with an open side. The design and the colors are super intricate and I think it’s a nice one-of-a-kind piece for summer. You can kind of see it under the Cantina tank in the picture which adds some sexiness.
