Bomber Jackets for Spring
Happy Tuesday, guys!
This week I’m headed to Houston for a wedding and I’m definitely packing a couple of bombers. Houston’s weather has also been up and down so I need pieces that are light enough for spring, but still give me warmth if it’s after 5 p.m. and 40 degrees.
The first jacket I’m wearing this week is a vegan leather bomber I bought recently during Nasty Gal’s closeout sale. As you all may have heard, Nasty Gal (Sophia Amuroso’s brain child) recently went bankrupt and the online retailer had a huge sale. I got this jacket for $35 and I’m pairing it up with my Steve Madden cheettah slip ons for a funky look. I even decided I could take it up a notch by putting just a bandeau underneath for when I go downtown. Side note here: Nasty Gal is still up and running online because it was bought by Bohoo.com. I’ve started to look at the inventory they have now and there’s plenty of cute pieces. Also, Nasty Gal is offering a 30% discount right now to build back up their business so it’s a great time to shop them.
The second jacket I’m wearing is a piece I bought from Buckle. It’s more work appropriate since the flowers are a little more muted and for work, I put a white flowy top underneath and wear it with jeans, and neutral heels. This jacket is so incredibly soft and a really versatile piece. The majority of the items I purchase, are pieces i can wear on the weekend or to work.
Also, kind of a funny story about how my photographer and I stumbled on a place to shoot this second jacket. There’s a place in Lincoln called “The Railyard” and it’s an area downtown where everyone in Lincoln goes out. Josh and I were walking around looking for a spot to shoot and we saw a vintage car was pulled up right next to the train station in the Railyard. We both kind of looked at each other like “this is serendipitous.” We just knew it was the perfect place to snap the photo of this jacket and I couldn’t be happier with the way the photos from that day turned out.
Anyways, that’s it for me this week guys! I’m headed back home to Houston and I can’t wait to share all of my food pics and shopping adventures later this week on Instagram and the blog!
